Corn Removal & Repair

November 15, 2017 by Dubai Podiatry Centre22

Did you know you don’t have to cut a corn out to remove it?

A corn forms from an area of high pressure. under the ball of the foot it always develops when one of the ‘knuckle bones’ drops down and pushed through the muscle layer and fat layer. It causes burning and pain. The corn will eventually disappear on its own if you lift the offending ‘knuckle bone’ back up and the corn stops growing and normal skin takes over.

Use Foot Corns Tape for 28 days to lift the bones back up.

In severe cases you might have to lift and tighten the entire foot using the  Footerella System for 6 weeks to structurally correct the foot also.

Using Bunny Pads gives instant cushioning and can be used to give pain relief.

Using the Corns Suck helps to repair the collagen layer faster to remove the corns very hard keratin plug.

Dear Sumita, corn removal is not usually painful – light pressure will be applied but the method of removal is painless using the latest technology. You can see on camera the removal of the corn which is very interesting to see. The Podiatrist will assess why you have the corn and what to do in future. Best wishes, Dubai Podiatry Centre

We never advise surgery on a corn as the pressure that caused the corn is what repeatedly grows the corn. The Podiatrist will assess the cause and treat the cause and also painlessly remove the corn. Best wishes, Dubai Podiatry Centre

I think I have a corn and the pharmacy gave me a liquid to paint on and now it’s even more painful and it went white and now I can only walk on my heel. Now my heel is hurting. Are you open Saturday? I cannot take time off work.

Dear Suresh, the corn liquid actually makes the corn problem worse. It burns the skin and makes it go very white. The normal tissue is also burned and it hardens and makes the corn more painful as the pressure causing the corn in the first place has not been addressed. Our advised is to stop using the corn liquid / plasters for 2 weeks before coming in to see the Podiatrist so that the chemical burn has had time to heal before assessment and treatment can begin. Dear Ramesh,
Thank you for your comment. Health insurance cover will vary according to your policy. Our Podiatrist will be pleased to help complete a claim form for your insurance company – we stock the most commonly used forms – which you can then submit to your health insurance provider to seek reimbursement. It is the patient’s responsibility to pay for their treatment first, then seek reimbursement from their insurer by submitting the completed claim form and payment receipt.

      Dear Ritu,

We suggest finding th reason you have the corn and dealing with that to stop the corn returning. The type of corn should be assess (seed corn, hard corn , soft corn, neurovascular corn) and then a plan made from there. Best to have the Podiatrist assess and make a treatment plan for you to know all the information. Best wishes, Dubai Podiatry Centre
