Children with flatfeet commonly have a hereditary condition that makes the ankles soft and lean inwards. This depresses and collapses the medial arch and makes the feet look flat. The ankle only needs to lean in more than 5° for the arches to full flat. Orthotics are made for the child that fit the feet exactly and are also tilted to the perfect angle of the foot misalignment to get 0° neutral ankle position. 5° of correction can be achieved with each wave orthotic to create foot arch formation.
