Podologue Dubai
Podologue is a French term for a Podiatrist. Here at the Dubai podiatry Centre our medical nurses carry out the medical pedicures that are very similar to pedicures with the Podologue in France. A Podiatrist is similar to a Dentist and a Podologue is similar to the Dental Hygienist. This is why our Podiatry Nurses make the medical pedicures.
We use the latest methods with the most up to date technology using diamond head tungsten carbide dental drills to smooth off the hard skin to make baby soft skin, instead of using blades and scalpels in the traditional way from many years ago. Technology has advanced in the hard skin removal process. Just like Dentists using plaque scraping tools to pull the hard plaque off of the teeth, hard skin removal now no longer uses scalpels and blades and uses dental drills which takes plaque off of teeth to remove the hard skin plaques on the feet.

I want to try this. The pedicure I try at the salon is good at taking off the rough skin but I still need more hard skin removed. How much is it? Thank you Sandy

I’ve got really dry cracked heels. Will this way of the medical pedicure be enough to remove it? Will it be strong? Lisa

Dear Lisa, yes the machine will remove all dead skin and excess callous. There may be a reason why your heel are dry and cracked and it is usually fungal skin related. We will assess and if this is the case we will address this also during your treatment. Dry fungal infections are the main cause of dry cracked heels and moisturising them can make the infection worse. Best wishes, Dubai Podiatry Centre

I play tennis and my big toes have a lot of hard skin build up which burns. Can I remove this? Will this barb part come back? If it does – how son and often should I come for this treatment. Simon

Dear Simon, usually the callous and hard skin build up is a good thing as it protects the skin from friction burns. We would advised not to remove this and instead discuss a way of reducing the load through that part of your foot by putting a tennis insole inside your shoes and also advised you on tennis toe – a problem that instantly addresses the friction burn – here is a link to the product
